- THE FLORAL FRAGRANCE CONCEPT - FEMININE The "Floral" concept accounts for half of the international fragrance landscape. These fragrances enjoy the greatest acceptance worldwide. Many of these compositions display clearly recognizable accords that are reminiscent of their natural models, of pure floral fragrances, for example, or floral impressions that lend a particular flair to many a region or place during certain seasons of the year. Floral-green: This interpretation is characterized by fresh, leafy-green notes, iris and, in particular, by galbanum. Floral-fruity: These are innovative fragrances, whose character is produced by radiant-fruity elements, some of them highly dominating. Cassis, pineapple, apricot, peach or apple accords are combined with floral themes, so that they represent a direction in their own right among the floral perfumes, one that has only been in existence for some 10 to 15 years. Floral-fresh: This version of the "Floral" fragrance concept includes all floral themes that incorporate spring-like, light impressions based on hyacinth, lily of the valley and orange blossom, and which can also be freshened with bergamot or other citrus components. Located here, as well, are pure Eau de Cologne themes, combined with jasmine and fresh-herbaceous accords. Floral: The Floral perfumes owe their character to numerous natural blossoms which, as much as they all may differ from one another, can be termed truly floral. Although rose and jasmine are undoubtedly the two that are most frequently employed, the effect of purely floral themes can also be attributed to such further important floral accords as ylang-ylang, narcissus, tuberose, iris and carnation. Floral-aldehydic: The aldehyde perfumes are a perfect example of how a group of synthetic fragrance materials has been able to characterize Floral-ambery: These heavy, intensively fragrant creations, whose origins extend back all the way to the beginning of this century, are often termed Florientals. In the late 1970s, after slumbering for decades, they experienced a rebirth which has lasted until this very day and produced new variations time and time again. This ambery-floral variation of the "Floral" concept includes the very heavy blossom themes and forms the transition to even heavier fragrance directions, the Orientals.
