HISTORY OF CHLOE PERFUME AND COLOGNE

In 1952, the luxurious fashion house Chloe broke away from the era’s formality by producing off-the-rack clothing that was at once soft, flowing and body-accentuating. The line of bohemian-style clothing was deemed "luxury prêt-à-porter." Founded by Gaby Aghion, Chloe become an iconic fashion brand in the 1970’s with the help of head designer Karl Lagerfeld. Chloe’s Perisian boutique was frequented by many notable names of the time, including Bridget Bardot, Jackie Onassis, Grace Kelly and Maria Callas.

Chloe Perfume was launched in 1975 to critical acclaim and commercial success. Classified as a flowery fragrance, Chloe Perfume was the perfect accompaniment to the soft elegance of the fashion house’s clothing line.

In 1985, Chloe was purchased by the luxury goods conglomerate Richemont Group and in October, 2006, Paulo Melim Andersson was appointed chief designer. Today, more than 50 years after its founding, the Chloe brand is just as strong as ever with many of the world’s hottest young stars having fallen in love with the French design house.
