KIMORA LEE SIMMONS PERFUME HISTORY

Kimora Lee Simmons, born Kimora Lee Perkins in 1975, started her career in fashion at the young age of 11 when her mother chose to enroll her in a modeling class. Just two years later, she was discovered at a model search by Marie-Christine Kollock, a representative for Paris Agency Glamour. At thirteen years of age, Kimora Lee Simmons had been awarded an exclusive contract to model for Chanel under famed designer, Karl Lagerfeld.

In 1998, Kimora Lee Perkins became Kimora Lee Simmons after she married Russell Simmons, co-founder of the hip hop label, Def Jam. As her husband’s apparel line, called Phat Farm, was starting to take off, Kimora was named Creative Director of the brand’s off-shoot branch, Baby Phat in 1999. In 2004, Phat Farm was sold to Kellwood Company and Russell Simmons stepped down as CEO. In his place, Kellwood named Kimora Lee Simmons President and Creative Director of Phat Fashions. In 2005, the first Kimora Lee Simmons perfume was introduced, aptly called Baby Phat Goddess, followed soon after by the fragrance, Baby Phat Golden Goddess.

In the Fall of 2007, Kimora launched her own couture line, simply called KLS, followed by the release of additional Kimora Lee Simmons perfumes in 2008.
Kimora Lee Simmons is also an author, actress and a mother of three children, and has even had a Barbie doll fashioned after her.

Beauty Tips

Do not rub a fragrace into your skin. Most are made to react with your skins oils and heat. Rubbing the perfume will only change the smell and make it dry out faster, falling short of lasting long.
